Katie Arita-Chang

Katie is passionate about working with clients to drive change and achieve communications and marketing objectives.

Katie develops and executes marketing and communications strategy, and advises clients on crisis management, public affairs, and public policy issues. She delivers strategy-driven results—from earned media coverage to increased digital engagement and reputation management.

Katie specializes in public affairs, with experience advising on political, government, and public health communications. Her previous experience includes roles in the public and private sectors, notably in federal and state government. As acting communications director at the Hawaii State Department of Health, she crafted communications and crisis response strategies on pressing issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Red Hill water crisis. Katie cut her teeth in U.S. Senator Mazie K. Hirono’s communications shop, where she worked on media relations in Hawaii and on a national level, wrote a variety of material from tweets to speeches, and directed digital strategy. She also held communications roles at the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii and Olomana Loomis ISC.
